Nowadays, being disconnected not only causes significant inconvenience but also represents a major economic loss for a company. But when we are in the open sea, the situation becomes even more critical because Internet connectivity is the foundation of the main safety systems.

In addition to enabling communication with the mainland, Internet connection allows monitoring of the vessel’s position and status, ensuring that everything is functioning perfectly at all times.

Merchant shipping also has additional needs to remain continuously connected, both for remote system monitoring and to ensure vessel security, such as in the event of piracy attacks, when remote control of onboard cameras becomes essential.

However, to guarantee the highest levels of security, leisure connectivity is often not sufficient, and it is necessary to rely on a business-level solution with guaranteed bandwidth capacity, both in download and upload, and 24/7 proactive monitoring directly from the mainland.

The antennas used by Viking to provide satellite connectivity services are designed with an IP66 protection rating, ensuring maximum resistance to environmental factors such as storms, strong winds, and saltwater erosion. In addition, our terminals can mitigate radar interference, signal blockage due to obstacles (trees, cranes, …), and vessel movement during navigation (tilt, roll, course changes, …).

The installation of the antenna on the vessel is handled down to the smallest detail by certified in-house Eutelsat / OneWeb technicians specialized in the maritime sector. Only in this way can we guarantee our customers business-level connectivity performance even in the open sea.
